Standing in the heart of Brixham, the Smugglers was once home to the notorious smuggler Bob Elliot. Its exposed stone walls, low beams and cosy nooks still carry the spirit of its maritime past, softened today by warm hospitality and home comforts.
Sink into an armchair by the log burner in the bar. Explore the harbour and fish market on your doorstep. Then return each evening to the glow of candlelight and the smell of something delicious cooking over the open grill in the restaurant below.

Our custom grill is the soul of the kitchen, where locally sourced ingredients are cooked over glowing coals. From expertly seared steaks and just-landed Brixham fish to smoky, flame-charred vegetables, every dish has a bold, rustic flavour. We’re now licensed to buy at Brixham Fish Market, so our fish comes straight from the local fishing boats to our kitchen.
The gentle crackle of the fire and the scent of the grill make it not just a meal, but a memorable evening.
